Golden Girls

CLIENT
Row New York

Designs for this youth rowing organization's annual event used a gold-tinged photo of a girl and her scull on sun dappled water, evoking what rowers love about their sport.

Materials produced included a save-the-date email, invitation, signage and 44-page journal. Offset printed items used metallic gold ink.

PROJECT
Toast to the Teachers

CLIENT
Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence

Every summer, families in Montclair host parties to honor local school faculty and raise money for this organization’s grant programs. The theme of “an apple for the teacher” remains constant, while the graphics change from year to year. (The apple illustration at top is my own; the others are modified from stock.)

Materials produced include postcards, registration materials, web graphics, email promotions and banners.

PROJECT
Celebrating Community

CLIENT
Center for Family Life

The honorees for this event were a young indie actor and a pair of farmers, the former an alumna of the organization’s youth program and the latter participants in a Community Supported Agriculture iniative. Film and farm-related illustrations made from clip art and picture fonts complemented the organization’s logo on the save-the-date card, invitation, signage and online graphics. A red envelope helped the invitation stand out in the mail.

Using an Egyptian theme initiated by another designer, this spiral-bound journal weighed in at a hefty 196 pages. A matching 44-page auction catalog was also produced.

PROJECT
Bingo, Baskets & Blush

CLIENT
Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence

A bevy of illustrated party-goers promoted this “ladies’ night out” to play bingo, win gift baskets, and raise money for grants to public schools. The "blush" is a reference to Montclair resident Bobbi Brown's role as an event sponsor.

Materials produced included postcards, posters, print ads and web graphics. I had a ton of fun doing these illustrations.

PROJECT
Heartworks Gala

CLIENT
National Marfan Foundation

An existing event logo gets dressed up for black tie with metallic ink, a dose of script and a stock floral motif. What appears gray or tan here was a grayish-lavendar metallic on all printed materials.

Materials produced included a save-the-date email, trifold invitation, 60-page journal, auction catalog and signage.

PROJECT
RNY Heroes

To bring out the heroic quality of the young athletes served by this youth rowing organization, a photograph was stylized and its colors deeply saturated. Additional photos received milder versions of this treatment to preserve their subjects' faces.

Materials produced included a save-the-date email, invitation, signage and 44-page journal.
