PROJECT
Annual Conferences

CLIENT
Community Health Care Association of NYS

I’ve been designing the conference materials for this statewide organization since 2011. The program covers vary from year to year, but the 40+ interior pages and signs post a consistent challenge: formatting a ton of information and trying to keep it as clear as possible. Related materials include signage, slides, and online graphics.

PROJECT
NextGen Talks

CLIENT
Gregson & Co

For an annual conference that brings together state, local and private sector economic development professionals, my main project is designing a program of about 50 pages of ads, bios and schedules. Full-color and spiral-bound, it's a compact 6" x 9" size, making it more user-friendly than the standard letter size, saddle-stitched variety.

PROJECT
International Research Symposia

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

Every four years, The Marfan Foundation coordinates an international research symposium on Marfan syndrome and related disorders. Stock photos of the cities they're held in animate the event materials, including online graphics (top), promotional brochures (below), and printed programs.

PROJECT
Human Rights Under Fire

CLIENT
Rabbis for Human Rights - North America

A bold type treatment using a distressed font suited the theme of this conference, Human Rights Under Fire: A Jewish Call to Action.

Shown at right are the registration postcard, the cover and one page from the 32-page program, a poster featuring co-sponsor logos, and an online banner ad.

PROJECT
Annual Conference

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

The Marfan Foundation's annual conferences serve families dealing with a rare medical condition. The 2015 materials were designed based on guidelines from a rebranding and included a detailed conference program (below) as well as outreach materials to attract sponsors.

PROJECT
ESL Curriculum

CLIENT
Center for Family Life

An 80-page ESL curriculum designed for a three-ring binder helps immigrant women starting a cooperative housecleaning business master work-related situations and vocabulary. Lessons were printed in color and handouts in black and white.

A 160-page version was later created for women starting a cooperative child care business.

PROJECT
Building Healthy Communities

CLIENT
The After-School Corporation (TASC)

A 302-page service learning curriculum for children in grades K-8 consisted of 60 lesson plans, over a hundred pages of worksheets and other handouts, and special sections on fitness and sustainability. Designed for a three-ring binder, tabbed dividers and photographic icons (a pepper, a tomato, an orange) separate the sections for age groups and subject matter.

PROJECT
Generation Y Studies Abroad

CLIENT
Council on International Educational Exchange

A circuit board superimposed on leaves suited the theme of this annual conference: Global, High Tech and Environmentally Aware. Materials were printed in green and metallic silver and included three brochures, a postcard, posters, print ads and a 24-page program.

PROJECT
Teen Action Curriculum

CLIENT
The After-School Corporation (TASC)

Weighing in at a hefty 588 pages, this service learning curriculum for high school students consisted of 23 chapters, 54 workshops and hundreds of worksheets and other handouts. Designed for a three-ring binder, tabbed dividers separate the main sections while individual thematic units, which make up most of the document, are color-coded. The Teen Action logo was created by another designer.

PROJECT
Portland Conference

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation (National Marfan Foundtion at the time)

With a venue in Portland, OR, the graphics for this organization’s 27th annual conference featured Mt. Hood and a type treatment reminiscient of 1930's travel posters, the era in which the rustic WPA-sponsored Timberline Lodge was built.
