PROJECT
Mar-Facts

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

There’s an active community of people affected Marfan syndrome, a connective tissue disorder, who help raise awareness about the disorder through social media. In 2017, The Marfan Foundation asked me to create a set of graphics, each featuring a “Mar-Fact,” which was widely shared online. These are a few of them.

PROJECT
Advocacy Day I

CLIENT
Community Health Care Association of New York State

Every March, employees of New York’s Federally Qualified Health Centers come to Albany to advocate for community health services. Organizing them is a statewide assocation which, for 2020, chose the theme of “Community Health Care Champions.” Comic book style graphics were used on posters, fact sheets, stickers and T-shirts.

PROJECT
Advocacy Day II

CLIENT
Community Health Care Association of New York State

"The Key to Community Health" was the theme of this state-wide organization's advocacy efforts in 2017 and 2018. Using a key graphic was a given; one year we filled it with a crowd representing New Yorkers, and the next we surrounded it with one.

PROJECT
Red Flags

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

A 24-page pocket-sized booklet includes case studies, photographs and information to help emergency nurses identify patients who may be at risk for aortic dissection, the leading cause of death among people with Marfan syndrome.

PROJECT
Are You At Risk?

CLIENT
American Liver Foundation

29,000 Americans will die from liver cancer this year. How do you warn people who are at risk to speak to a doctor? Through a multi-platform advertising campaign that first and foremost illustrates where the liver actually is. After that, you educate people about the risk factors, and maybe even try to scare them a little bit.

From 2014–2108, I created billboards, signs for subway platforms and bus shelters, taxi marquees, and interior transit system ads that appeared in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, as well as dozens of social media graphics. October is Liver Cancer Awareness Month!

PROJECT
Fostering Youth Success Alliance

CLIENT
Children's Aid

A new logo and a brightly re-colored photograph promoted participation in advocacy efforts among foster youth online, on posters, and on flyers.

PROJECT
RENT Awareness Campaign

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

The Marfan Foundation (previously the National Marfan Foundation) launched an awareness campaign in conjunction with the release of the movie RENT to educate movie-goers about Marfan syndrome, a condition believed to have led to the death of the musical’s creator, Jonathan Larson.

The campaign included a slide shown on theater screens before the movie (top right) along with leaflets and posters.

PROJECT
Marfan Does Not Mean Martian

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

Written by a teenager who has Marfan syndrome, this 28-page book teaches younger children about this rare medical condition while offering lessons on diversity and acceptance.

I created 7 full-page and 8 spot illustrations for this book (as well as doing the design and layout). More images are shown under Illustration & Inforgraphics

PROJECT
Volunteer Resources

CLIENT
The Marfan Foundation

With a small staff and thousands of volunteers across the country, this organization created a variety of resources to help them raise awareness about a rare medical condition and provide support to peers in their communities. Documents range from three to 40+ pages and are primarily distributed online.
